03/06/2008 - 9:00pm

Location: New York Avenue Presbyterian Church, 1313 New York Ave NW, Washington, D.C.

Description: Recent U.S. policy toward Iran has consisted of efforts to impose sanctions and vague talk of “confronting the danger before it’s too late.” We’ll talk about how the United States has gotten to this point and how we can encourage a new direction: vigorous, comprehensive diplomacy. We’ll also share reflections from Mennonite Central Committee’s 17-year history of working in Iran, including recent travel to Iran.

Speakers: J. Daryl Byler, Mennonite Central Committee Regional Representative for Jordan, Iraq, Iran and Palestine; Rachelle Lyndaker Schlabach, Director, Mennonite Central Committee Washington Office

Directions: New York Avenue Presbyterian Church is located at 1313 New York Ave NW, Washington, D.C. (intersections of H St, 14th St, and New York Ave. NW; near McPherson Square Metro stop)
